In 2021 I discovered a new passion in gravestone cleaning/restoration. This passion has taken me all over the state of Tennessee in search of gravestones in need of care. I have been very fortunate to have been able to clean and restore stones from many forgotten Men and Women who date back to pivotal times of American History. From Veterans of the Revolutionary War to early settlers of many East Tennessee communities. The history in these stones, needs to be preserved for all to come.

Cleaning and restoration is done gently by hand to preserve the stones. Every detail is meticulously gone over the ensure the best cleaning possible. I use the only products approved and used by both the US Department of Veteran Affairs for our National Cemeteries, as well as the National Park Service for monuments in our National Parks.

In 2022 I discovered several unique shaped stones in Red Boiling Springs, TN. These stones led me to Dr. George Thomson, from the University of Glasgow. The world leading expert on Discoid shaped gravestones. Together we have been in the process of documenting unusual and unique Discoid markers from around the state for publication of a scientific paper. Some of these discoveries are unknown outside of Europe. This has been a fascinating and rewarding journey.
